Monument Valley Wedding photographer

In April I got the chance to photograph a beautiful wedding in Monument Valley, Arizona. When Natalie excitedly told me about the stunning backdrops, beautiful light and the epic road trip it’d take to get there, I didn’t need any more convincing, I had to photograph this wedding!

Natalie Pluck, being a wedding photographer herself, and her videographer husband Andy got engaged at the very location their wedding took place. Lots of planning and a few months later, the final plans were set in stone. Fly to Vegas, road trip through Utah and Arizona, and drive the final stretch through the Navajo desert, ending up in the beautiful Monument Valley. Everyone was on board and the countdown for the wedding began.

I couldn’t wait! For me it was a mix of nerves and excitement, it’s a little daunting photographing another photographers wedding. Especially a couple as lovely and talented as Natalie and Andy.  It was an honour to be asked and I couldn’t wait until the big day. Destination weddings are always a favourite of mine too, I love to travel!

The wedding itself was beautiful, Natalie wore a dress designed especially for her, and Andy and the boys wore tailored suits. The ceremony was intimate, peaceful and surrounded by the natural beauty of the red sandstone rocks and blue skies. Their day was a dream!  Relaxed and happy and just perfect.

Niall and Jenny’s wedding was AMAZING.  Full of colour and fun and love, it was the best day, and they are the cutest couple.  The reception took place at the very chic Oh Me Oh My in the heart of historic downtown Liverpool.  Built in the 1920’s and a former bank, it’s a beautiful building with tall ceilings, huge windows and marble pillars, a charming space and perfect for Niall and Jenny’s stylish and creative wedding.

“Prioritise the most important elements to you both and focus your efforts on them. The atmosphere is everything, choose a venue where there aren’t millions of rooms for people to get lost in. If you want a good atmosphere, have everyone in a few main areas!” Advice from Jen

Niall proposed to Jen at Glastonbury festival in the most romantic way, spelling out the words ‘marry me’ with paper lanterns, surrounded by all of their friends.  Pretty special! I knew their wedding would be amazing.

Two lovely people and a beautiful city, we had fun wandering the streets as dusk set in the evening.  Such a chilled wedding followed by an epic party on the night time, I loved documenting the day as it happened.

North East Wedding Photographer

Kelly and Jodie are the cutest couple!  Sharing a mutual love of cute animals and an obsession with pizza, I knew we would have the best time working together.  Their wedding was a dream, and the stunning Hexham Winter Gardens played host to their foliage filled, botanical day of joy!

Jodie and Kelly’s fun filled wedding was one of my favourites of last year.  With a huge focus on one big party for their friends and family, they really pulled it off without skimping on style,  which was down to their months of planning and hand crafting all of their awesome decor.  I absolutely adored the whole ‘choose your creature!’ for the table names, each table a different animal, it really showed their personalities and character.  All surrounded by some of the prettiest foliage (and nicest food!) I’ve seen at a wedding.

One other huge thing I loved about their day, the MUSIC!  Music really sets the mood and atmosphere of the day, and using the score of some of their favourite movies was genius.  Followed by an epic dance party in the evening, it was the best day.

Love,

Emily x

North Yorkshire wedding photographer.

Emily and Colin’s black tie wedding was a super sweet one.  I’ve been looking back on lots of my 2014-2015 weddings lately, and I thought this one fitting to call in the new year.  Full of love and joy, everyone was in the party spirit, celebrations went on well into the night. Gold dipped feathers and the candlelit rooms of Crathorne Hall really set the atmosphere in the evening.  The black tie suits and Emily’s tea length dress oozed style too, such a perfect choice!

New Year’s Eve is the perfect time to tie the knot, everyone is already in the festive spirit which makes for great party atmosphere.  It’s one of my favourite dates for a wedding, there’s just something special and different about a wedding on NYE.  It’s also one of the most booked up dates for weddings in general, so make sure you book your favourite suppliers in early!

Lots of love and best wishes for the new year ahead,

Emily x

  • jennifer - Hello Emily,

I was wondering if you shoot other events apart from weddings? I’m planning my 30th party (Gatsby/20’s theme) and was looking for someone to photograph the night. It’ll be on the 28th (fri) august in Durham from half 7 I’d probably just need a couple of hours is this something you could do and if so how much do you think this would be?

    Thanks jenniReplyCancel
