North Yorkshire wedding photographer.

Emily and Colin’s black tie wedding was a super sweet one.  I’ve been looking back on lots of my 2014-2015 weddings lately, and I thought this one fitting to call in the new year.  Full of love and joy, everyone was in the party spirit, celebrations went on well into the night. Gold dipped feathers and the candlelit rooms of Crathorne Hall really set the atmosphere in the evening.  The black tie suits and Emily’s tea length dress oozed style too, such a perfect choice!

New Year’s Eve is the perfect time to tie the knot, everyone is already in the festive spirit which makes for great party atmosphere.  It’s one of my favourite dates for a wedding, there’s just something special and different about a wedding on NYE.  It’s also one of the most booked up dates for weddings in general, so make sure you book your favourite suppliers in early!

Lots of love and best wishes for the new year ahead,

Emily x

  • jennifer - Hello Emily,

I was wondering if you shoot other events apart from weddings? I’m planning my 30th party (Gatsby/20’s theme) and was looking for someone to photograph the night. It’ll be on the 28th (fri) august in Durham from half 7 I’d probably just need a couple of hours is this something you could do and if so how much do you think this would be?

    Thanks jenniReplyCancel

Lord Crewe Arms wedding photos.

I’m so excited to share this lovely winter wedding with you all.  Caron and Garry’s day was an intimate celebration with their nearest and dearest, at the cosy Lord Crewe Arms.  Set in the North Pennine Moors in the village of Blanchland, The Lord Crewe is a gem of a wedding venue.  With amazing food, stylish boutique bedrooms and a medieval bar with a crackling fire, it’s perfect for those looking for something a little bit different within the North East.

Stylish and a little bit different was exactly that for Caron and Garry!  I loved their day, I loved how family orientated it was and I loved how much love they had for each other.  This is what weddings are all about :).

I hope you all have a lovely festive season!

Doxford Barns Wedding Photography.  Hugh and Jo were such a gorgeous, stylish couple who couldn’t wait to marry each other!  Their wedding was so much fun.  From prep in the morning until the epic dance party in the evening, Hugh and Jo put on an amazing day for their family and friends, celebrating their love in style!

Jo and Hugh tied the knot at the beautiful venue that is Doxford Barns.  Based in Northumberland, close to Alnwick, it’s a working farm perfect for couples looking for a rustic, boho wedding venue in the North East.  The ‘Threshing Hall’ ceremony barn dates back to the 18th century and is adorned with oak beams and classic stone work, which creates a really atmospheric vibe for a ceremony.

Jo looked beautiful in her two piece top and skirt, complimented by her equally stylish bridesmaids.  Hugh and the boys opted for blue fitted suits which looked great with the bright buttonholes and Hugh’s cute wolf cufflinks.  I loved the flower choice too, nice and bright and perfect for Summer!

Little touches I absolutely loved were the steel band that played for guests during the drinks reception.  ‘Cake By The Ocean’ playing on steel drums as you sipped a cocktail under the July sunshine really set the vibe for their boho barn wedding.  Hook a duck to keep the kids entertained was also pretty epic, and the gin bar serving cocktails was a special touch too!

Their day was just full of love and happiness, it was pretty special.

Lartington Hall wedding photographer

Carlie and Mark tied the knot on a sunny Saturday in September at the beautiful venue that is Lartington Hall, one of my favourite places.  Carlie and Mark are such a beautiful, friendly couple, and it was so fun getting to know them during their engagement shoot at a favourite place of theirs, Beamish Museum.  This is one of the things I love about my job, I get to meet such lovely people!

Carlie pretty much handmade most of the decor at the venue, she’s just so talented!  Everything you see is Carlie’s creation of romantic, whimsical and pretty, a vision she had for their wedding as soon as the planning started.  I absolutely adored her floral crown, too (by Wild and Wonderful flowers).

“Advice for the bride…take a deep breath on the wedding morning and relax. I said to myself on the morning of the wedding I was going to make sure I enjoyed the day and was determined not to let nerves spoil it.”  – Carlie

North Yorkshire wedding photographer.

Grace and Oliver’s celebrations took place at the beautiful Middleton Lodge, a favourite North Yorkshire venue of mine.  Full of light, bright and airy rooms with lots of space, it was the perfect blank canvas for Grace’s creative eye (and perfect for a wedding photographer like me who loves everything pretty!).  Colours of peach, pink and white were the choice for the flowers, which complimented the rest of the decor perfectly, down to the very last detail.

Tying the knot at the church nearby, the rest of the day was spent celebrating back at the country house.  Everything about their day was special, and it was filled with the loveliest of people.  An absolute dream of a day for the two of them.  Perfect!

Scroll to the end of the post for a list of the fabulous suppliers Grace and Oliver chose.

“Best part of the day?  Our first dance. From being a little girl, I always wanted ‘Endless Love’ to be my wedding song. My husband and I met at 16- so it couldn’t have been more relevant. We had a magical few moments when it felt like it was just us in the room, and then took a moment to look around- we were in this beautiful place, married, with all our favourite people surrounding us.. We felt incredibly blessed.” – Grace and Oliver
